at first i did not know how i felt about this collection, then i was mesmerized by it. its something about the contrast of both the colors and the patterns. and the head pieces i think are really pretty in an organic, disheveled way.

I was seriously skeptical of the new designers who took over such an iconic design house as Valentino, especially after watching this. But this collaboration is new, youthful, and respectful of the Valentino culture and romantic aesthetic at the same time. I like the use of leather and chiffon together- a cool play on hard and soft. They made delicate ruffles and "lace" out of leather, and there is also a cool transparency thing going on with the lace.

Still obsessing over the Dior Spring 2010 show...John Galliano is a genius. His ideas and inspirations are so creative and he truly brings them to life. This season, he was inspired by Film Noir and transparency. I love the idea of sheer underwear as outerwear. The show was so vintage and romantic but dark at the same time.
